Import ideas

Run Import ideas

Pull ideas from a connected source (Linear, Atlassian, GitHub) or paste a list. Creates Idea entities with source provenance preserved.

Use when

  • You are migrating your team's backlog from a project management tool into Revelica
  • You want to bring Linear tickets or Jira issues into your discovery workspace
  • After a workshop where ideas were captured as a list and need to be formalized
  • When joining a new team and wanting to import their existing backlog to start analyzing it

What You Get

  • Idea

Structured Idea entities with names, descriptions, and source provenance — each linking back to its origin in Linear, Jira, or GitHub.

How It Works

  • 1
    Choose your source

Specify whether you are importing from Linear, Jira, GitHub, or a pasted list. The agent connects to the appropriate source or parses the pasted text.

  • 2
    Fetch and parse

Retrieve ideas from the source, extracting a name and description from each item. For pasted lists, the agent handles markdown bullets, numbered lists, and free-form text.

  • 3
    Deduplicate

Compare incoming ideas against what is already in the workspace and skip duplicates to keep the backlog clean.

  • 4
    Import with provenance

Create each new idea as a structured entity, preserving the source link so you can navigate back to the original ticket or issue at any time.

Why ideas trapped in project trackers stay disconnected from product context

Linear tickets and Jira issues are great for tracking delivery — but they are isolated from the customer research, competitive data, and strategic hypotheses that should inform which ideas to build. Importing ideas from your existing tools connects each one to the full context of your product workspace: the opportunities it addresses, the assumptions it depends on, the customer segments it serves. That connection does not happen automatically in a project tracker.

Who it's for

Useful at any team size, but most impactful for teams migrating from a project tracker to a dedicated discovery workspace. Also valuable after workshops or planning sessions where ideas were captured informally.

Frequently asked questions

Can I import ideas from Linear into Revelica?
Yes. Connect your Linear workspace and the agent will fetch your issues, parse them into structured Idea entities, deduplicate against what already exists in your workspace, and import them with links back to the original Linear issues.
How do I bulk-add ideas from a list?
Paste your list directly into the chat — one idea per line, markdown bullets, or a numbered list. The agent parses each item into an Idea entity with a name and description, checks for duplicates, and saves the new ones.
What happens to imported ideas after I bring them in?
Imported ideas become first-class Idea entities in your workspace. You can run refine-idea on any of them to form a hypothesis, run pre-mortem or data-mining to test them, or use rank-ideas to prioritize them alongside ideas that originated in Revelica.
